COMPETITION BYELAWS
Unless stated otherwise in the Competition Terms of Entry these Competition Byelaws apply to all Muswell Hill GC competitions.
Where the term ‘Competitions Committee’ is used it refers to any member of the MHGC Competitions Committee, the PGA Professional staff, or any other person responsible for organising the competition.
Competitions are open to full members only, unless otherwise stated.
Members entering any competition must have World Handicap Index (WHI) of a maximum of 23.0 for men and a maximum of 31.0 for women, unless otherwise stated. Competitors with a WHI above these limits must play from that limit or, where there is a different handicap limit for a competition, competitors with a WHI above the limit for that competition must play from that limit.
All competitions shall be played off current handicaps and with the appropriate handicap allowance as stipulated by the current England Golf WHS rules, unless otherwise stated.
From February 2026, members must have submitted at least 6 qualifying scores over a minimum of 90 holes in the 12 months prior to the closing date of entry for each competition, unless otherwise stated.
For any competition, the conditions of entry will be stated on the details made available to members and/or on the entry form.
Members entering any stroke play competition must enter the competition online and pay the entry fee before starting.
Further to the R&A Rules of Golf dealing with scorecard responsibilities, the Competitions Committee may suspend any competitor from entering the next available club competition not already entered, in the event of more than one failure in any year, to accurately show on their scorecard the following:
Competitors are obliged to submit a scorecard for every stroke play competition they play in in accordance with the Rules of Handicapping.
